Saint Nicholas Bishop

Saint Nicholas Bishop

Children paint a paper towel roll red and set it aside to dry. Then they glue a gold streamer along the length of the roll. They cut the top of the roll at an angle to create the shape of a mitre. From a paper circle, they cut out half and glue it on as Saint Nicholas’s face. The edge between the face and the mitre is decorated with another strip of gold streamer. They draw the eyes with a black marker. A paper napkin is rolled around a marker and the end is glued. Then the napkin is slid down to create a ruffled strip. These pieces are glued on as Saint Nicholas’s beard; if the strip is too short, they combine two to get the desired length. The finished Bishop Nicholas makes a beautiful Christmas decoration.
